We are pleased to announce that the Maha Shivratri Pooja has been organised exclusively for Rajput Samaj of UK at the Jalaram Jyot Mandir.

Please note the details of the Maha Shivratri event as below:

Date: Saturday, 25th February, 2017

Time: 3.00pm – 7.00pm

Venue: Shree Jalaram Jyot Mandir, WASPS Rugby Football Club,

Repton Avenue, Sudbury, Wembley, Middlesex HA0 3DW

Entrance: Junction of Repton Avenue with Compton Avenue

Buses available to the venue are 18, 92, 204 & 245

Station: Sudbury Town (Please check the Route Information with London Transport before travel)

Please note that the Maha Shivratri Pooja will be performed by the Maharaj in the Mandir

Faraar will be served after the Pooja.

We hope that you all will make it a point to attend this event along with your

elders. May I urge you to pass on, this invitation, to our elderly members who do

not have access to email.

Navratri and Diwali 2016 update

The Trustees and the Executive Committee of Rajput Samaj of UK wish you a very Happy Navratri !!

 It is that time of the year in the lives of young and old to enjoy and display the traditions and worship our Goddess Ambaji for strength, peace and prosperity.

 This is the event that brings us together and brings the best out of us too!

It is also the time to inform you, our esteemed members, of the events that are taking place during the Navratri this year.

 AATHAM

Aatham will be held on SUNDAY, 9/10/2016 from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

Please ensure that you all arrive on time to enjoy the event.

The draw for Aatham will be made on Friday, 7/10/2016 and the draw for Dusshera will be made on Aatham i.e. 9/10/2016

A gentle reminder to pay your memberships at the earliest before Aatham as the draws will be done from the paid members list.

The dress code this Aatham is as always, RED & GREEN for the ladies and for the gents…..well, surprise us!!

As always, this Aatham has been kindly sponsored by Shri Dilubha Jethwa.

DUSSHERA 2016

Last year was a great success, where we included Maha Shashtra Poojan.

We carry on from the last year and intend to make it even more interesting and eventful.

We have been approached by News18 (a CNN channel) to cover the Dusshera event, which will be telecast during their shows. We also will have officials from High Commission of India and prominent dignitaries present during the event.

Please make sure you bring your Safa and Talvar and dress in the most traditional outfits. Ladies, its Orange and Green for you this time.

Professional Video shoot of the Dusshera event will be done and DVDs will be available for purchase on the Diwali Show. Please confirm if you are interested in buying so that we can cater for DVD to be available.

Please note that you will be able to perform the Maha Shashtra Poojan as family. Please register your interest at the front desk so that we can cater for the space.

AARTI

Please note that the aarti is free and bring your aartis decorated from home. Please inform the Front desk if you wish to bring your Prasad.

DONATIONS

We always welcome your kind gestures to donate towards the hall hire during the Navratri. Please contact the Front desk or our Treasurer/Asst Treasurer.

Please note that RSUK is also now registered for Gift Aid.

SHARAD POONAM

The Sharad Poonam will be celebrated on SATURDAY, 15/10/2016

DIWALI 2016

The Diwali event this year will be held on SATURDAY, 5/11/2016

Venue: Totteridge Academy

Time: 4.30pm – 12.00am

Food will be served from 5.00pm – 8.00pm

Kindly inform us of your attendance so that we can cater for food.

We are also looking for good participants during the Diwali show, hence please contact any of our EC members or Trustees.

COMMUNICATIONS

We continue to get mild complaints from the members that the newsletters or emails do not reach them as they do not have access to emails.

Kindly send in your requests for postal communications or hand them in at the Front desk during Navratri.

We look forward to seeing you all during all our events and help us make them a roaring success.

Independence Day 2016

EC members are pleased to announce that Rajput Talvar Dance will be performed during the event by members of RSUK.

Register for your free tickets on Eventbrite website (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/indian-independence-day-celebrations-in-uk-free-event-in-london-tickets-26601733501).

Only 4999 people will be given entry on first come basis because of health and safety. So please register to avoid disappointment. Show the ticket at the gate for admission.

RSUK and NCGO-UK, in coordination with Indian Gymkhana Club INVITE YOU WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS to participate in the biggest Indian flag hoisting and Independence Day celebrations on SUNDAY 21st AUGUST 2016 from 10am to 4-30pm at the Indian Gymkhana Club in London.

Highlights of the day

11:00am High Commission of India to the UK will hoist the Indian National flag at Gymkhana Club.

Rendering of the National Anthem by 25 young children from age group of 7 to 20 years.

AGM 2016 was held successfully on 24th April 2016. In addition to AGM this year we had re-election of Trustees as they completed 5 years.  Few existing trustees were re-elected with few new trustees. Also few new EC members also joined. Details of Trustees and EC members can be seen on Contact Us page.

We will shortly announce our Navratri and Diwali dates.
